Dear Pacific County Republicans,

The excitement is building as this November’s election approaches. This fall our state and nation faces a crucial question: We will continue down our path of dependency, debt and decline; or will voters choose to return America to the Founder’s vision of limited government, personal responsibility and individual freedom? As we head into the fall campaign, I hope you will take this opportunity to join us for an evening with like-minded conservatives as we gather to support the GOP’s efforts in Pacific County.

Pacific County Republicans are proud to welcome State Senator Michael Baumgartner as our keynote speaker this year. Michael is running this year to replace Maria Cantwell in the “other” Senate in Washington DC. A fresh face in Washington politics, he surprised many by returning the 6^th District (Spokane) Senate seat to Republican hands in 2010, winning in his first try at elected politics. Defeating an extremely well-funded incumbent, Michael won a very hard fought campaign for his Senate seat in the most expensive state legislative political election in Washington history, and by a healthy margin of over 7%.

Serving on the Ways & Means Committee, Michael has already made a big impact in Olympia, helping craft last year’s bipartisan budget, as well as an important bill that reformed state government. After Republicans were shut out of the budget process this year, he took part this month in passing another bipartisan budget. This one, however, was written by the Republican minority and supported by three Democrat Senators who refused to back an irresponsible budget proposed by members of their own party.

We’ll have other candidates and honored guests in attendance, our usual outstanding prime rib dinner, and the fellowship of conservatives from across the county and state.
